Take These Tips Into 2024

It’s December, and the end of any year brings a few opportunities.

First and foremost, it’s an opportunity to rest, recharge, spend time with your loved ones and consider what you’re thankful for. Me? I’m thankful for every reader of this blog. I cherish the conversations it’s spawned over the years and the ones it’ll spur in the future. Thanks for your readership. I never take it for granted.

The end of the year is also a time to reflect on your experiences in the previous year, to consider lessons learned, challenges overcome and successes you’ve had. It’s also a time to look ahead to the new year and strategize for continued success.

For my final blog of the year, I thought I would gather a few of my favorite Commercial Commentary posts from 2023 in case you missed them. I think the themes they explore will continue to resonate into 2024:

What To Do When Your New Equipment Arrives
Regardless of forecast economic conditions, the commercial glass and glazing industry’s continued investment in automated production equipment isn’t expected to slow down in 2024. When your new equipment arrives, there are some important steps to take to ensure you get the most from your investment.

Find Success by Optimizing Generational Skill Sets
Demographic change is one of the most profoundly important issues facing the commercial glass and glazing industry today. Fostering the next generation of professionals is critical, and that work must continue into 2024 and beyond. I wrote about one strategy you can use to do so.

How to Push the Boundaries with Proven Technologies
Sustainability is a growing concern in the commercial glass space, and creating more sustainable buildings will require high-performance technology. Some of those technologies already exist—and they’re worth your exploration.

Fostering Technical Expertise in the Next Generation
As demands evolve, commercial glass and glazing become more sophisticated every year. And to deliver on the needs of the commercial building and construction industry, we need to be sure that we’re doing the right work today to foster the next generation of technical experts.

Once again, thanks for reading in 2023. I’ll see you all in 2024!
