PGT Innovations (PGTI) has unveiled a new glass company, Triple Diamond Glass (TDG), which officials say will focus on energy efficiency, security and sound abatement applications. It will operate from a 291,000-square-foot facility in Prince George, Va.

PGTI officials say TDG will initially focus on producing Tri-Ultra thin triple insulating glass units (IGUs) and Diamond Glass laminated glass units. Diamond Glass offers “passive protection” for security and noise reduction. Officials explain that Tri-Ultra complies with new energy efficiency values required to receive tax benefits under the Inflation Reduction Act and Energy Star Version 7 guidelines.

“The creation of TDG represents a major step forward in our company’s journey,” says Jeff Jackson, PGTI president and CEO. “This addition to our PGTI family, along with its new customer segment and manufacturing facility, perfectly supports our mission to provide solutions that enhance people’s lives. We are excited to bring these products and manufacturing capabilities to other manufacturers, homeowners and the window and door industry while establishing a new business and approximately 650 careers in Virginia.”

Officials say TDG’s products will be available for window and door manufacturers to incorporate into their own existing products by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
