Tyrolit Group acquired Acme Holding Company, a Michigan-based manufacturer and provider of abrasives. The acquisition provides Tyrolit with its seventh manufacturing plant in the U.S. Tyrolit is a manufacturer of grinding and dressing tools as well as a system provider for the construction industry.
Officials say the move will expand Tyrolit’s product portfolio for the steel and foundry industry. Tyrolit will integrate Acme wheels in its portfolio of grinding and specialty abrasive solutions for industrial clients.
“We have built a successful global economic base that allows us to pursue our strategic direction of business activities further,” says CEO Thomas Friess. “The further expansion of our portfolio–especially for crucial industries like steel, foundry and rail–strengthens our operational competitiveness.”
The acquisition became official at the end of September 2023.
