PGT Innovations

Chris Stephens Jr. was recently appointed to the PGT Innovations (PGTI) board of directors. He will join the board’s audit committee and serve as a Class III director. The board is also expected to nominate him to stand for election as the director of PGTI’s 2024 annual stockholders’ meeting. Stephens Jr. previously served as the senior vice president and chief financial officer for Sealed Air Corp.

Next Energy Technologies

Next Energy Technologies has appointed Brenton Taylor as CEO, replacing Daniel Emmett, who steps into a newly created executive chairman position. Taylor recently served as Next’s chief operating officer. Taylor brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership, scaling manufacturing and commercialization of advanced technology innovations to Next from his time at Inogen Inc., which he co-founded.

Interlock and Caldwell

Interlock and Caldwell are taking the next step in combining the two companies. Axel Husen will lead both businesses as president and CEO of Interlock and Caldwell. A joint press release indicates that the new, combined company will leverage its range of fenestration products and strengthen its manufacturing and distribution footprint.

Vitrum Glass Group

John Graham was appointed Vitrum Glass Group’s vice president of operations for the U.S. market. The move comes as the company wants to expand its presence in the U.S. Graham has more than 30 years of experience in the glass industry.

Vitro Architectural Glass

Vitro Architectural Glass has appointed Mark Pano as its New England national architectural manager. Pano will manage construction projects and advise architects in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Vitro also appointed Tracey Qualteri as the national architectural manager for the West region. She assumes the role following ten years as customer accounts manager at Pfister Faucets.

New Hires

Deceuninck North America

Deceuninck North America named Tim Pierce its new vice president of operations at its Monroe, Ohio, headquarters. Pierce has more than 30 years of experience in textiles, industrial building products, technology, medical devices and polyvinyl chloride. He most recently served as chief operating officer for Georg Fischer Piping Systems Americas.

Giroux Glass

Walter Wells has joined Giroux Glass Inc. as safety director. Wells is based in Los Angeles and oversees the safety operations of all projects in progress throughout Arizona, Nevada and Southern California. He previously was at A.J. Kirkwood & Associates, where he served as safety and risk manager.

GlasPro Inc.

Joe Carlos is now director of business development for GlasProInc. Carlos will leverage his expertise in identifying and creating sales opportunities for value-added architectural and decorative glass productsin the newly created role. He has more than 35 years of glass industry experience covering the Western U.S. in many capacities.

Isoclima Specialty Glass

Isoclima Specialty Glass has hired Wynn Lafferty as sales manager, focusing on civilian armored glazing and other specialty markets. He arrives from Custom Glass Solutions. Lafferty has more than a decade of experience in the specialty vehicle market, which officials say will provide Isoclima with “additional bandwidth as the organization grows.

Laminators Inc.

Phil Caruso is now the Northeast regional sales manager for Laminators Inc. His coverage area will include Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, eastern New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Caruso will perform field promotional work in his new role and sell and develop new business throughout New England.

U.S. Bullet Proofing

U.S. Bullet Proofing named Tom Haines government business development manager. Haines will work with government agencies,and other groups to develop design solutions. He has been involved with ballistic, blast, storm impact and forced entry-rated windows and doors for the past 23 years.

Maryland Glass Company

James Hoesch has joined Maryland Glass Company as a sales representative. Hoesch has more than 30 years of experience in the glass industry. He arrives at Maryland Glass following a 15-month retirement. He previously served as a regional sales representative at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, where he spent 32 years.

Starlight Sales Corp.

Starlight Sales Corp. has hired Bart Hensley as North America’s technician and thermal break specialist. Hensley will lead repairs for all brands’ thermal break insertion machines, conduct preventive maintenance and implement improvements to enhance performance.

Kudos

Şişecam

Şişecam’s Ahmet Kirman was named “Glass Person of the Year 2023” by the Phoenix Award Committee (PAC). Kirman, Şişecam’s chairperson and executive member of the board, earned the distinction based on his contributions to the glass industry. PAC chairperson Lincoln Brown explains that the award recognizes an individual who has been active in and has made “significant and major contributions to the glass industry.”

Promotions

Hartung Glass Industries

Hartung Glass Industries has promoted Nick David Sciola to CEO in addition to his current responsibilities as president. Sciola has more than 15 years of experience at Hartung. The news comes as former CEO Nick Sciola Sr. steps down after 35 years at the helm. He now takes on the role of executive chairperson of the board.

M-D Building Products

Ryan Plotkin, president of M-D Building Products Inc., was promoted to CEO. He replaces board chair and former CEO Loren Plotkin, who will continue to serve as chair. Loren has served as president and/or CEO since 2000. He has been with M-D for more than 40 years. Ryan joined M-D in 2008 and has held several roles since.

Glaston Corp.

Glaston Corp. reports that Miika Äppelqvist has been named the company’s architecture senior vice president (SVP), while Robert Prange has been appointed SVP of automation and supply chain management. Dietmar Walz, currently the SVP of insulating glass technologies, will leave the company effective Oct. 1, 2023. Furthermore, José Yepes has been appointed as senior vice president of Glaston’s new Mobility, Display and Solar business segment.
