Crystal Window & Door Systems has partnered with trucking company JB Hunt to control costs and improve logistics. The partnership provides Crystal with six drivers and 12 trucks assigned exclusively to the manufacturer. Officials say all drivers are trained in properly packing and handling Crystal products, shipping procedures and documentation.
Officials say before the partnership, Crystal explored various options to control costs better for its nationwide production operation. The company has five production facilities with customers in nearly every state. As such, officials explain Crystal needed to manage the transportation of some work-in-progress materials between its factories and deliveries to customer locations and jobsites.
Crystal’s own fleet of box trucks and tractor-trailers will continue to service regional and local trucking needs around the New York metro area, northeastern Pennsylvania, the Chicago metro area and southern California regions.
