The city of Union, Mo., officially recognized Gateway Extrusions with a proclamation marking the company’s 20th anniversary. The proclamation was presented by James Schmieder, Union’s director of Community and Economic Development.

Gateway Extrusions opened in 2003 following the acquisition of the shuttered Cupples Aluminum Products plant in the Union Industrial Park by Gateway’s parent company, Crystal Window & Door Systems. The company supplies aluminum window frame extrusions, along with various other products.

“Gateway is very proud of its employees and facility here in Union,” says general manager Brent Robb. “This is a great location. The city supports the business community, and the region offers a quality of life that makes this a desirable place to work and live.”

Gateway currently employs more than 100 workers. It recently expanded from a regional operation to a national supplier.

“Gateway has invested significantly in equipment, factory modernization, business development and recruiting and developing our skilled workforce over the past 20 years,” says Robb. “The efforts are paying off; we just finished a record year for sales revenues and quantity of metal extruded and we see solid continued growth.”
