The British Safety Council (BSC) recognized Şişecam during the International Safety Awards 2023 for its safety record. The Turkish glass manufacturer received the “Distinction” award for its 2022 approach to preventing workplace injuries and work-related diseases. It was also recognized for its workplace well-being practices.
The International Safety Awards recognize an organization’s commitment to excellent standards of health, safety and wellbeing management. Around 1,000 companies from 44 countries participated in the event, celebrating BSC’s 65th anniversary.
“The British Safety Council applauds Şişecam on its achievement,” says BSC CEO Mike Robinson. “The award recognizes its commitment and hard work to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.”
According to Şişecam officials, the company strives to foster a healthy workforce. It holds continuous training sessions and offers activities to develop an occupational health and safety culture.
“Şişecam aims to maintain a healthy and safe working environment in all stages of its production activities,” say officials. “Many actions are taken by the company to fulfill its responsibility to foster healthy individuals and a healthy workforce in line with this goal. Şişecam takes all measures necessary to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases and ensures their implementation.”
