Erdman Automation’s latest innovation incorporates a robot to unload its Dura and Super Spacer High Speed Insulating Glass Line. The unloading robot reduces the chance of injury from unloading large, heavy insulating glass units (IGUs) and can also be designed to unload all IGUs and reduce the number of operators on the line. Total labor for the Dura High Speed line is three to four operators per 1000 units per shift compared to eight to ten operators for 1000 units on a traditional line, according to the company. The robot is also available for flexible foam lines.
