PCR Released for Sealants in North America

The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC), along with UL Environment as the program operator, recently released a product category rule for sealants covering North America.

“The publication of the Product Category Rule (PCR) for sealants demonstrates that ASC is able to mobilize its membership to accomplish a task that is important for the continued use of sealants in sustainable applications within the building and construction industry,” says Steve Rosenberg, task group chairman, ASC board member and senior vice president for risk quality and sustainability management at Sika.

PCRs are documents that define the rules and requirements for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) of a certain product category. They are vital for the concept of environmental declarations according to ISO 14025 as they enable transparency and comparability between different EPDs based on the same PCR.

“I would like to thank members of the PCR Task Group and consultants who made this document possible” says Steve Duren, senior director, ASC.
