Key Communications, publisher of USGlass magazine and USGNN.com™, has formed a partnership with Richard Voreis, chief executive officer of Dallas-based Consulting Collaborative, a nationwide management consulting firm with specific expertise in priority planning and related initiatives focused on the glass and glazing industry. As part of this partnership, Voreis will contribute a bi-monthly column for USGlass magazine and a weekly blog called “Dollars & Sense.” He also will share his industry knowledge and insight during various events managed and organized by the publisher and provide consulting services for magazine readers at discounted rates.

Before founding Consulting Collaborative in 2000, Voreis was chief operating officer of United States Aluminum Corp. near Dallas, where he had full responsibility for the company’s 16 operations throughout the United States and Canada. Prior to that he had served as president and CEO of Hebel Building Systems in Atlanta, where he had full operating responsibilities for North America, including the launch of the company’s $40 million U.S. manufacturing facility. He also previously served as vice president of marketing and sales for Kawneer Co. in Norcross, Ga., where he was responsible for all marketing and sales related functions, as well as training, research and development and engineering.

Voreis says he was essentially born and raised in the construction industry, as his father was a residential homebuilder. Likewise, Voreis himself worked his way through Indiana University building homes and graduated with a BS degree in business management. He has been active in many industry-related activities, including 15-plus years on the Georgia Tech College of Architecture Advisory Board, two terms on the National Glass Association board of directors, and most recently was appointed to the advisory board of Pythagoras Solar, an innovator in building integrated photovoltaics. His other business interests include being co-owner of a residential and commercial glass company in Dallas.

“I was asked by USGlass magazine to write ‘best practices’ articles because my consulting firm provides a board range of consulting services to subcontractors, general contractors, architects, engineers, building product manufacturers and suppliers to the building construction industry,” says Voreis. “We have worked with dozens and dozens of glass and glazing subcontractors, so we know and understand the challenges in your industry and are constantly up-to-date on industry ‘best practices.’  I’ll be sharing these ‘best practices’ with you in my articles.”

“We are very excited to have Richard as a part of our team,” says Debra Levy, publisher of USGlass magazine. “He has a tremendous amount of industry knowledge and experience that he can share with our readers and the entire industry through his articles and speaking engagements. We look forward to working with him and further developing this exciting opportunity.”

Voreis’ column will launch in the November issue of USGlass magazine; his blog will post on Wednesdays. Voreis also will provide USGlass magazine readers and attendees of Key’s Glass Expos a discounted rate on management consulting services.
