The American Institute of Architects (AIA) currently is seeking essays that address what role architects will play in society in 2033. The essays will be used in preparation for an AIA Emerging Professionals Summit scheduled for January 24-26, 2014, in Albuquerque, N.M.
The summit will expand upon the AIA Emerging Professionals strategic initiative to develop action plans for the association and additional stakeholders to respond to the shifting education, professional development, career path and societal role of architects, according to information from AIA.
Essays can be submitted by any individual who is a legal resident of the United States and falls into one of the following categories: architecture student, AIAS member, intern, non-licensed professional, associate AIA member or an architect licensed less than ten years.
Essays are due by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on November 4.
Individuals selected to attend the summit based on their essay submissions will receive complimentary registration, airfare, lodging and meals during the conference in Albuquerque.
