AGC’s new plant in Brazil has started production. The plant is located in Guaratinguetá, São Paulo, Brazil, and is part of AGC Glass Brazil.
Construction on the plant had begun in November 2011. The plant will fabricate architectural glass, mirrors and automotive glass.
It is expected to produce 220,000 tons of float glass per year, process automotive glass for 500,000 vehicles and manufacture mirrors for the Brazilian market.
“I am delighted to announce that the AGC Group’s technology, quality and services are now being offered in the Brazilian market,” says Davide Cappellino, president of AGC Glass Brazil at the start of production.
He adds, “We are confident that our first industrial investment in South America will lead to further development.”
