Special-Lite Inc. has named Roger J. Stempky as assistant vice president of sales and marketing for the Decatur, Mich.-based manufacturer of commercial entrance systems. In this new position, Stempky will begin to assume responsibility for the sales and marketing activities of the company as he succeeds, W. Dow Ruch, at the end of 2013.
Stempky joins Special-Lite after more than 25 years in sales and management positions in the interior architectural components and office furnishings industries. Following a six-year stint as an independent sales rep for Teknion interior products, he spent 14 years with Custer Workplace Interiors, a supplier of interior furnishings for commercial spaces, where he opened their Kalamazoo/Battle Creek location and served as general manager, and later regional manager for their offices in Southwest Michigan. Most recently, Stempky was founder and president of Nxtwall, a maker of movable interior wall panels. He joins Special-Lite after selling his interest in the company.
