Alissa Warnemunde Schmidt, an architectural design manager for Viracon, recently received the 2013 Distinguished Young Alumni Award from Minnesota State University Mankato.
Warnemunde Schmidt is one of 11 2013 alumni award winners. She was honored at an April 26 ceremony hosted by the Minnesota State Mankato Alumni Association.
Distinguished Young Alumni Awards go to graduates 35 years old or younger who have reached professional achievements early in their careers and have positively impacted their communities.
Warnemunde Schmidt graduated from Minnesota State Mankato in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in interior design.
Warnemunde Schmidt spends her days providing technical, specification and design assistance to the architectural community. Among the projects with which she has been involved are Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and 11 Times Square in New York City, CityCenter in Las Vegas and the Dallas Cowboys’ new stadium, according to Viracon.
