Larry Herberholz Passes Away

Lawrence F. Herberholz, 76, of Bonita Springs, Fla., passed away Friday, February 15, 2013.

“Larry had to have had more than 30 years in the glass industry. He was a regional manager for Ford glass division and for many years a general sales manager. He worked in Detroit, Nashville and San Francisco during his career,” says Matt Hale of YKK. “He was a great man to work for—tremendous sense of humor and a wonderful story-teller.”

Bob Terrell, a former Ford auto glass executive, describes his close friendship with Herberholz in his book, “Have We Lost Our Common Sense?”

“My very fine general sales manager, Larry Herberholz, along with O’Malley were also Gemini’s along with me, and our wives were all Taurus’s and they loved to get together and talk about how hard it is to live with a Gemini. Larry and I walked many miles staying shape. If we were both in the office the same day instead of eating a big lunch we walked at least to two miles to stay in shape,” says Terrell.

Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home in Bonita Springs, Fla., took care of the arrangements.

Association with Larry had to be a highpoint in anyone’s life that worked with the Ford sales team. He may be gone but surely will not be forgotten.

Lloyd-I have no idea who you are but thanks for the kind words regarding my father. It is so nice to hear other people share fond memories. Taking the time to post your comments is greatly appreciated and my mother enjoyed hearing me read your words during a phone call this evening.
      Regards,
      Jeff Herberholz
