AU 2013 Draws Glass and Metal Industry to Munich BAU 2013 currently is being held at the Messe Munchen GmbH in Munich, Germany, drawing glass and fenestration exhibitors from around the world.

Among those exhibiting is Guardian Industries of Auburn Hills, Mich., which is displaying its commercial, residential and interior products at the event, including its InGlass line of high-performance glass products; SunGuard Advanced architectural glass; and ClimaGuard residential glass.

“The product and service offerings for the SunGuard, ClimaGuard and InGlass portfolios have evolved dramatically since 2011, the same year of the last BAU show,” says Hubert Kopf, head of marketing in Europe. “It’s perfect timing for us to reach an audience that may not be familiar with Guardian, nor aware of how expansive our product offering is, especially those high-performance products and services that contribute to net-zero buildings.”

Roto Frank AG of Germany also is exhibiting at the show. The company is displaying its completely concealed hardware for large windows and balcony doors with sash weights of up to 150 kg. The hardware features an additional load transfer device, not visible from the outside, to provide stability. Additionally, the company is featuring a solution it designed for the Leadenhall Building which currently is under construction in London. The office building has a façade angled 10 degrees toward the inside, for which Roto supplied a special version of its hinge side “T 540” for the 560 façade sashes, according to information from the company.

Profine GmbH is exhibing its PVC insulating windows and residential door systems, along with its new PremiDoor 88 lift/sliding door system with an installation depth of 88 mm. The window features a U-value of 1.2-1.3, according to the company.

The event is being held at Messe München GmbH and runs through Saturday, January 19.
